Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection and Processing

Our browser extensions (Distraction Curtain, Tab Freezer and related products) are designed with privacy as a core principle. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about our data practices.

2. What Data We Collect

Local Data Only:

• Extension settings and preferences (stored locally on your device)
• User-drawn curtain positions and sizes (stored locally on your device)
• Tab suspension preferences and whitelist settings (stored locally on your device)
• License key information (stored locally on your device)

No Remote Data Collection:

• We do NOT collect or store any personal information on our servers
• We do NOT track your browsing history
• We do NOT collect analytics or usage data
• We do NOT share any data with third parties

3. License Key Verification

When you activate the Pro version with a license key, a one-time verification request is sent to our payment processor (Payhip) to validate your purchase. This request only contains:

• The license key itself
• No personal information or browsing data is transmitted

4. Payment Processing

All payment transactions are handled by Payhip (www.payhip.com). We do not have access to or store your payment information (credit card numbers, PayPal accounts, etc.). Please refer to Payhip's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

5. Browser Permissions

Our extensions require certain browser permissions to function:

• activeTab: To draw curtains on the current webpage or manage tab suspension
• <all_urls>: To work on all websites you visit
• storage: To save your settings locally on your device
• tabs: (Tab Freezer only) To identify and suspend inactive tabs

These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and NOT for data collection.

6. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device using your browser's secure storage API, your data security is managed by your browser's built-in security features. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version.

7. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right to Access: Since all data is stored locally, you can access your data through your browser's extension settings
• Right to Deletion: You can delete all extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser's extension data
• Right to Data Portability: Your local data can be exported through browser tools

8. Children's Privacy

Our extensions are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using our browser extensions (Distraction Curtain, Tab Freezer and related products), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our extensions.

2. License Grant

Free Version: We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the free version of our extensions for personal use.

Pro Version: Upon purchase of a Pro license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Pro features. Each license key is valid for one user.

3. Permitted Use

You may use our extensions for:

• Personal, non-commercial purposes
• Blocking distracting elements on websites
• Managing browser tabs and memory usage
• Improving your browsing experience and productivity

4. Prohibited Use

You may NOT:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
• Share, sell, or redistribute your Pro license key
• Use the extension for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to bypass or crack the license verification system
• Remove or modify any copyright notices or proprietary marks

5. Payment and Refunds

Payment: Pro version purchases are processed through Payhip. All prices are listed in Euros (EUR) and include applicable VAT.

Refund Policy: Due to the digital nature of our product, we generally do not offer refunds. However, if you experience technical issues that we cannot resolve, please contact us at extensionandapps@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase, and we will consider your refund request on a case-by-case basis.

6. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Update or modify the extension at any time
• Add, change, or remove features
• Discontinue the extension with reasonable notice

Updates to the extension are provided free of charge to all users.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our extensions are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement

We do not guarantee that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the extension
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code
• Any content or behavior of third-party websites

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the extension or violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ludwigsburg, Germany.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date below. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
